Greenhouse High Tea: Indulgence of the highest order
If indulgence had a roof, the High Tea at the Greenhouse in Constantia has shattered it. In the throes of the Cape’s rainy winter, the floor-to-ceiling glass at The Cellars-Hohenort is a great escape to enjoy the warmth indoors while appreciating the lush surroundings.
The decadence – created by Executive Chef Tronette Dippenaar – is served in four courses with a choice of of 11 loose-leaf teas, or Lavazza coffee.
Each course is a feast for the senses – savoury, sweet, tart, and then the pillowy soft scones – it’s what high tea dreams are made of.
Served in the elegance of this historical venue, Tea at The Greenhouse is a celebratory affair and includes a glass of L’Ormarins Brut Classique Rosé (or non-alcoholic sparkling wine), perfectly matched with the savoury selection that includes Tea Sandwiches, Caramelised Onion Tart, Smoked Salmon Mousse Cornets and Goats’ Cheesecake. Irresistibly decadent delicacies such as Walnut Carrot Cake, Key Lime Pie, Mini Milk Tarts and Buttery Scones with strawberry jam and Chantilly cream.
Tea at The Greenhouse is served Wednesday to Sunday 11h00 to 13h00 & 14h00 to 16h00. R395 for Adults, R195 for Children (4 – 11 years). Booking is essential.
