Gigantic waves unearth ship nestled deep in Oudekraal waters since 1977
Antipolis, a ship lost to the rough cape winds in July 1977, has finally been set free.
The City of Cape Town says it is a result of usual increased wave and wind activity after the full moon two days ago.
In 1977 the ship was being tugged from Greece to the Far East when a north easterly gale tore it away from its mothership in the Cape and set her adrift. She eventually settled in Oudekraal where she sank to the bottom.
After the fierce waves Antipolis now sits on rocks not far away from the Twelve Apostles Hotel.
