Throwing punches and making moves at Sisonke Boxing Club

From a tiny, rundown room no bigger than a few square metres, a Hout Bay boxing club is producing champion fighters, even with the odds weighed heavily in favour of dashed hopes and faded dreams. Bongile Centane works as a petrol attendant at the BP in Hout Bay all day, then walks to the boxing club and trains less-fortunate children in the area from 5pm – 7pm. And he does this 5 days a week.

His selfless need to share his knowledge and time has produced boxers who have participated in the Western Province Championships. Centane wants to make a difference in the lives of children who have the potential to be great.
