Mykonos Greek Taverna

Mykonos Taverna: For the love of Greek food

If an authentic Greek feast is what you seek – look no further than Mykonos Taverna in Sea Point, Cape Town.

Steeped in tradition, with recipes handed down through generations of the Peroglous family, the restaurant has been in business since the 80’s. Peter Perogolus first opened the doors to the restaurant in the hope of spreading Greek love to the locals through exceptional food, dance and a sense of community. It soon became the only place to go for his signature lamb kleftiko and crispy golden calamari – which is still on the menu today.

He passed the torch onto his son Dimitri Peroglou and his wife Vicky who keep the spirit of Peter’s dream alive through food, feast and family. The menu is a revelation of everything Greek – hop from island to island and experience where these authentic dishes come from. When you food experience allows you to travel to lands far away and discover new favourites – you know you’ll be back.

And what’s a real Greek experience without smashing plates and dancing the Zorba? Join in on the fun on the last Saturday of the month to find out.
